Our 2021 Chenin Blanc Lescalo is medium bodied wine with a nose that is fresh and clean accompanied by subtle floral notes, white flowers, grapefruits, limes, green apple, spice and an engaging medium plus acidity, a pale lemon hue, dry on the palate with lemons, green apples, grapefruits, spices, honeysuckle, light river rocks and sea salt finishing tangy with light almond notes.
A low-calorie, low-alcohol blend of Chenin Blanc and Tempranillo, this wine is for the smart sippers! It is made by harvesting grapes at optimal phenolic ripeness, but before they have a high sugar concentration. This is the natural way to create a lower-alcohol wine as opposed to utilizing an alcohol reduction process. This low intervention method is ideal rather than employing harsh techniques like vacuum distillation, centrifugal force, or reverse osmosis to remove alcohol from finished wine. The wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel without oak aging to retain the fresh fruit flavors. Bottled 04-30-24.
